I'm looking at buying a used Les Baer .308 for around $2300. Before I part with that kind of cash, I wonder if I should wait and also be looking at other rifles in the same category. I'm mostly interested in long range target shooting (and want a .308 autoloader), not really hunting. What's your opinion of the Les Baer custom AR10? Any others you would consider? Frankly, I like the M&P10, but those are going for almost as much as the Les Baer.... Comments and advice please -- thanks!

That LB is a well made rifle and that price is not bad. There was a time you could build an extremely accurate rifle for less money, but those times are behind us for now. I’d buy the LB and not look back.

Not a huge fan of les Baer. IMHO his philosophy on rifles isn’t much different from his pistols. He thinks tight equals accuracy.

that might work for benchrest bolt guns but tight chamber large frame ARs make no sense to me. Reliability is more important than accuracy and if you can’t get both then switch to a bolt gun.
