Predator 2

As he's looking for a primary weapon he opens a case full of HANDGUNS! Picks up a 1911 6" longslide then says "Nah... TOO SMALL". He has a freaking DE .50 in his holster and he picks up a .45 ACP?! ***.

Well that's easy to answer. He obviously chose the .45 ACP over the .50 because of its superior knock down power. :p

Alien VS Predator was a disgrace. It payed no attention to the original movies, and was essentially just a scheme to make money off of pg13 viewers. When I see an alien movie, I at least expect humans to kill a couple of aliens before they all die, but just like with Jurrasic park, that was a no no because it could have landed them an R rating. My guess is AVP won't have any more of a loyal following than Predator 2 as the years progress.

The original AVP limited series/graphic novel was really excellent. I never even watched the movie since it looked just awful.

As far as James Cameron's Avatar goes, I also read the scriptment that was on the web a couple years ago. It has fantastic potential, but hopefully the final product would tone down the whole Gaia worship thing.

But some of the set peices and action sequences described were just mind-blowing. Cameron really is the very definition of an artistic genius.

Now if someone would just slip him a copy of Atlas Shrugged...

I liked both Predator and Predator 2. A lot of acton, far fetched and so on but they were only movies. Better than some of the new releases coming out. Good gracious, not all of us here are the type to watch serious drama or historically correct films. Bet some are disapointed because of no nasty sex scenes. you should lighten up a bit.

Predator II.....Hooo Boy.

Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever sat through :barf:

Apparently you've never seen Highlander 2.

Just. Wow. I saw it on WGN or something a few years ago when I was too lazy to lift my arm to change the channel.

Wow. That was a few minutes of my life I'll never get back. I could have watched an infomercial, at least...

set it...and FORGET iT!

Predator is a woefully under-utilized franchise, having a theme that requires no replication from one installment to the next 'cept the hunter. No casting or settings to replicate & pay extra for each time 'round. Wish they'd do more, even as a series of B-grade movies.

Highlander 2 was so bad, Christopher Lambert had to apologize for & disown it at the beginning of Highlander 3. Seriously! H3 begins with Conner McLeoud sitting in a grand old chair, staring straight at the camera, and proceeds to inform the audience (in flowery terms) that this episode begins just before the last scene of the first episode. THAT indicates a BAD movie.

As I wrote elsewhere:
Highlander was a fine guy film that ended with total closure. Highlander 2: The Sicken...(er, 'scuse me)...Quickening totally mangled the first story, ignored the closed ending, and carried it on in bizzare ways; the Director's Cut reportedly edits the movie severly, effectively turning it into another film. Highlander 3: The Sorcerer formally apologized for the previous film and discarded it, and said of the first film's ending "no, wait, we apologize, the story isn't finished after all" so they could present some more gratuitous sword fights and beheadings. Now there is Highlander: Endgame which rolls back the story to about 2/3rds through the first film, ignored the other two, picked up the TV series (no comment), and tried to end the first story a fourth way...but it's not done, because of the Hollywood need for a happy ending which makes no sense and opens the door for (retch) a fifth sequel/ending; but that's the Producer's Cut version, which is somewhat different from the theatrical release. Highlander 4, in and of itself, is an OK B-movie; in context of the serieses (plural plural), it's another round of "why are they doing this to me (the viewer)" and six profoundly different endings to one otherwise good story. I suggest you watch the fine cult hit film Highlander, and if anyone suggests you watch any sequels consider following Connor McLeoud's example upon them.
In that light, I rather liked Predator 2.

I thought the first two Aliens movies were great, very hard edge. Alien 3 was cool, if only for the huge abandoned prison complex. I even like the fourth installment. AVP was stupid stupid stupid.

Predator is a classic, even with Jesse Ventura's foolish chaingun setup (which was still damn cool)

Predator II was ok, neither here nor there.

I'll say it again, AVP was stupid!

PS. I love all zombie movies, even the bad ones :D

Predator 2 is kind of a nostalgia movie. Ahhh, 1990, when a Taurus 92 series with a laser sight the size of today's surefire flashlights was considered hot stuff, and rastafarian drug lords who looked like Whoopi Goldberg and carried sword canes were credible movie villains...

There is a punk rock store in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago called The Alley that has a (I think) life size figure of the Predator. That thing looks like it's somewhere around 7' tall and looks scary. I'd take a picture of it but they wouldn't let me.

As for AVP, at least the main character and the girl with the blond hair were total cuties!:D

Never finished the 2nd one, 1st was dumb enough especially the mini gun being humped through the jungle, whrer did they fit all the ammo?

Did like the beginning of no 2 though when the bg puts cocaine in to his open wound!

The two future governators stored it in their massive pecs, of course.
