I just read the November issue of the American Rifleman and there is speculation that a president John Kerry will nominate Hillary Clinton to the supreme court of the USA.

I thought about this and it makes sense as the Clinton people are now helping Kerry in this election campaign.

Now we heard about rumors of Hillary wanting to run for president in 2008. She may have the clout in the Democratic party machine to secure the party nomination, but she is not a viable candidate. Hillary does not have her husband's charm and the public simply will not vote for a woman to be commander in chief.

Now we all know that she wants power, the power to transform the USA into a socialist country. We also know that the judges on the SCOTUS are getting too old. There will soon be some open seats on the SCOTUS. That the Clinton campaign staffers are helping Kerry's election campaign, I think John Kerry might have already promised her a nomination to the supreme court.

Uuuummm- no chance in a million years he would do that. Aside from her obvious lack of qualifications, he has no interest in seeing his nominees shot down in spectacular flames. There are plenty of liberal federal judges to pick from.

Their "help" seems more to me about making JFK II crash & burn so that Queen Hillary can run against "x" in 2008 (as Cheney will presumably be too old/"x" for the top job in 4 years).

On the surface most of their "help" seems to be for the greater good of the DNC, however the timing of some things (Bill's book for one) makes one scratch one's head while readjusting the tin foil.

I find this rumor to be highly unlikely. Other than a law degree, Hillary Clinton has no qualifications to serve on the Supreme Court. I don't think she's ever been a judge at any level, which is pretty much a requirement...

She hasn't practiced law in what, 15 years?

She was never a judge, either.

He can nominate her if he becomes president and someone retires from the court, or dies, but I sincerely doubt that she'd be confirmed.

Interesting fact I found out some years ago, but there's nothing that says a Supreme Court Justice needs to be an attorney!

"Fortunately, America isn't dumb enough to elect that Kerry creature."

You keep saying this, Mr. Wolf.

Unfortunately, given the latest polls, it looks like America may very well be just that dumb.

I truly hope you're not in for a shock on November 3.

IIRC these is no constitutional qualification that says a justice of the SCOTUSA needs to be an attorney nor have been a judge. I think that most have been judges. If anyone knows for certain if I am correct or in error, please advise. Been right before and wrong before.

Uh...

...not gonna happen.

Besides, she wants to run for President in '08, or '12.

Mike

Absurd for all the technical reasons, not teaching at law school, not a judge, not a DA, not approvable.

Why can't a Supreme Court judge resign her post to run for elected office in '08 or '12? Better yet, why can't she run for office and resign if she wins, but stay in if she loses?

I don't think Kerry is going to make it either. The only reason this thing is close is because the media is making it close. The people of this country aren't dumb enough to elect Kerry! Wait, I live in California, oh yes they are dumb enough! I just don't think it is going to happen though.

Because such behavior would be so disreputable that it would destroy any chance of her winning an election.

Not going to happen, there aren't enough contested Senate seats for the Democrats to get the votes to put her on the Supreme court, even if they won every one of them.

There aren't enough Senate seats to confirm her just like there were enough votes to stop the dems from tacking on the AWB to the lawsuit bill? Not to mention it is an upity Senator thing. Do you think the Senator's are not going to "confirm" their own as a matter of common curtousey?

But you are right, that would be more disreputable than getting oral sex from an intern under the Presidental Desk in the Oval Office. And we all know any president that does such a thing would most surely be sunk.

Yes, I am using a lot of sarcasm.

William Howard Taft did it in reverse.

He was elected president (a post he didn't want), and some years later was appointed Chief Justice.

What a scary thought.
Although it's probably very unlikely, it's scary.

I hope Standing wolf is wrong, but I don't know.
I Think America would elect a man who has no discernible leadership qualities...just because he ain't Bush.
