President Unveils Gun Policy Plans Tomorrow

President Obama will unveil his gun violence proposals at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the White House, according to people who have been briefed on the event.

Obama has invited gun control groups and members of Congress to the White House Wednesday, representatives of three groups that have received invitations told POLITICO. The invitation the White House sent to members of Congress dubbed the event "a follow-up to the policy meetings on gun violence the Vice President and Senior Administration officials held last week."

The event will take place at the South Court Auditorium of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building adjacent to the White House.

Obama is expected to announce the White House will push for a prohibition on high-capacity ammunition magazines, universal background checks for gun purchases and an assault weapons ban, along with the 19 executive orders that Vice President Biden told House Democrats Monday Obama will implement unilaterally.

The event will include some mayors who are in Washington for the meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which is to begin Thursday at the Capitol Hilton.

The White House did not comment about the event.

Oh I know more that everything gets laid out, and no more bad guess work.

I hope every member on THR is ready to take-on this fight. I have been doing my part, nearly every day with emails to my representatives, on many issues. Have only 1 reply from my congressman, and it was favorable. The rest, haven't had the decency to respond yet.

I am, honestly after NY and hearing enough about "reasonable gun owners" I said to myself, no more compromises. If people want to talk about enforcing existing gun laws, mental health, more databases or efficient reporting being used for checks, that's cool, but that's it. I'm sick about this reason gun owners not being effected the 2nd Amendment wasn't about hunting or your $2,000 Browning over and under.

Also I am a liberal (not the Libertarian Liberal but Liberal), so it's not the left's plan (okay I'm more like moderate to somewhat conservative Demo or Scoop Jackson like) it's Anti-Gunners plan (as I've seen tons of R's in state houses and senates doing stuff too.

Using the left is the wrong term, Anti-Gunners is the right term. Remember Bloomberg was election as an R. We need to make the Second Amendment non partisan like it should be.
