Presidents and Personal "Nightstand" Guns

Reagan's 45 was unloaded. He pointed it out a window to stop the incident.

GWB's Saddam special is supposed to be on a mantle.

Remember when GWB was accused of having a device on under his coat? Shoulder rig?

I not sure exactly what it was - minor caliber and a snubbie, I assume - but it seems Clinton never could keep his gun concealed.

Had this compulsion to keep showing it to interns and the like.

ahaahahaha, you made a fuunnyyyy xD

if i was president...i`d carry a glock 17, just to piss people off xD

Edit: I would also go around talking about how "it was dropped from space, went down to the bottom of the atlantic, got picked up and fired flawlessly for 1 million rounds"

and that any and all 1911 (or followers, as in later models) are pure unrefined POS with a shine on em...

If I were President, I would likely open carry either my G23, or my 1911 (for making my statement). On the nightstand? An AR15 of course. Hey, if I was POTUS, I would think big.

If a terrorist happens to get through untold dozens of secret service agents, I can't see Dubya being able to stave him (more like "them") off with a pistol.

I know a bunch of ex Air Force Types and Jet Jocks. Some of them are pretty darn good with the ole’ 1911. Why would you think a Good ole’ boy from Texas, who hunts too, would not be?

Maybe says more about your personal prejudice than anything about the President.

You know, GWB was given Sadaams BHP by some soldiers, how great would it be if THAT was his nightstand gun?

I would guess GWB would use the sidearm he was trained, with either or both a 1911 or a Model 10 S&W.

B. YOU mean that they get to pack heat when THEY deny others the same right in the USA? Geesh!

Which “they” are you talking about. I am not aware of any Federal law, with notable exception, that keeps me from “packing Heat” as you put it. Don’t blame the Feds.

Go figure.

Fred

Nice! I liked GWB before - leading an unpopular fight for our future, but my estimation of the man just bumped up considerably. A 1911. Yet another mis-underestimation.

Considering the damage he has done to the economy buy not freezing the gasoline prices like Carter did to prevent this kind of inflation I don't care if Bush single handedly revives Winchester Arms , he is the worst President in my lifetime !!! And yes I was dumb enough to vote for him !!!!

Freeze the gas prices like Carter? Why, so we can have a gas shortage and bring back gas lines. Having to use less gas due to higher prices sucks, but it beats not having any available for use. By the way, this is a thread on what type of firearm a President might have kept for personal protection, and not on their policies as a whole.

why would bill need a handgun?
Hillary could just turn any intruders to stone with her gaze:D
the bipartisan bumper sticker
RUN HILLARY RUN dems put it on the back republicans on the front:D

If we would have sticked to Carters energy plan we would not be on the verge of WWIII and a depression. Gee, energy independence by 2000 sounds pretty good now.

I don't know that, if I were president, I would exercise the "priveledge" of having a nightstand gun, when the very district I'm in denies that right to the honorable citizens.

Back in high school "Mr. Mac" my economics teacher always said economics should be a required subject.

He was right.

Oh, to stay on subject.

It seems to me that Harry Truman would have most likely had a 1911 around, having served in the War to End all Wars. Either that or a Smith & Wesson or Colt revolver in 45 acp.

Elvis walked up to the front of the white house, and was actually shown in, without an appointment, to meet Nixon. He then presented the president with an engraved 1911.

Yow.

The King Ruled.

Haven't really gotten into Hunter's book on the Puerto Ricans' try at Truman...

If the Presidents and first Ladies were to have nightstand guns.....Bill Clinton would have been running for his life the night Hillary found out about Monica's blue dress. Probably best that they do have secret service protection.

Nixon, a stolen 32acp:evil:
F.D.R. Colt peice maker
Theodore Rosevelt, Colt peice maker
George washington a muzzle loader of some sort
Andrew Jackson a pair of dueling pistols
Grant 1858 new army revolver
Hayes a schofield
Garfiels a converted cap and ball revolver
Wilson a liquor gun:neener:

If I was POTUS just out of principle as the leader of the FREE state make a point of carrying.

OT. Cornman knows economics he is just plugging his interest in ethanol (CORN) which is a bad bad idea. I don't like the idea of food being more expensive and less available. I can do without combustible engine fuel if I had to.

OT II I would draw the line the POTUS got the urge to wear military uniforms like all the European and Third World thugs do even if technically he is commander in chief. Always gave me the willies to see Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, and even the King of England prancing around in their war wardrobe.

Bet THIS President Carries!

>..and yeah - dunno what he's got - but I want it!

As an aside, didn't Churchill carry a 1911 when PM. Heard a story about about how one of his Scotland Yard bodyguards was wavering over a 1911 he had been issued. Churchill took it from him, did a press checkto make sure it was loaded and then put the safety on before slipping it in his overcoat pocket :what:

Ah, the good ol' days when men were men....:scrutiny:

I figured the pres would have a clicker, like the ones used to open the garage door, in a shoulder rig. When he clicks it two F1 eleven, fighter planes show up insataniouslly, or a commanchee gunship pops up. Or a squad of special forces sleep under the bed lol.
