After slowly accumulating parts for over a year now, boredom got the better of me and Saturday I started to tinker. This is what I came up with. Being my fourth build, things went pretty smoothly. I've got a few things I want to do - add a scope and a sling mostly, and figure out why it required so much correction to the left. Other than that, I pretty pleased with it.
Took it out to the range today to see how it does. Not an ideal day, while the temperature was in the low fifties, I had a 17 mph cross wind that threatened to blow the target stand down. The first two shots printed low and to the extreme right. After twenty-two clicks to the left I got the POI lined up. A little Kentucky windage and it was good enough for me - today. It'll hit minute of Prairie Dog at 50 yards if I do my part. As it was getting cold and I was about to start to not have have fun, I took a few pot shots at gongs at 100, 200, and 300 yards and had no trouble ringing them.
As the front sight base came attached from the factory (RRA), and looked square, it isn't (or not likely) crooked. The rear sight is a Magpul, until I get a scope, I didn't think those were prone to problems. I want to pull the barrel and re torque it, just for fun and see if that fixes it. Any ideas?
