I hate to ask. I'm sure it's annoying to those who have forked out for it, but I am in terra incognita.

Load is for a Ruger No. 3 chambered in 30-40. Keep in mind this is a falling block action rated to well over 65,000 psi. I am using 308 Winchester data and the 30-40 case has about 3 grains higher case capacity than the 308 Winchester.

Load is:
175 Grs Berger VLD Hunting
45 grs IMR 4895
WLR primer
R-P brass
Bullet is seated a little over a tenth inch off the lands. COAL is 3.281”

Pressure should be in the 57-59kpsi range but I would like to have some verification. No pressure signs but resizing definitely needs more force than cast Krag level loads.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

If you need the software, buy it. Stop begging.
Why would someone buy a 100+ dollar piece of software when they only want a single piece of info?

I have bought quickloads, and will have to again as I've lost my copy somewhere, but I use it with almost every new gun. But I still wouldn't recommend it to 90% of reloaders.

If you don't want to help the guy just leave the thread, he knows what he's doing and so do you but spiteful comments are just unpleasant to read.

I mean, its spendy software. I bought a copy but $100 isn't as precious to me as it once was and I've got that luxury, hopefully you're not so disconnected from the time you might have thought twice about such a purchase that you can't extend a little courtesy and avoid coming into a thread literally just to be mean about it.

If anything it's still nice to see a post like this because we can discuss a neat wildcat and entertain ourselves in the meantime.

With that data, and using default 30-40 case overflow of 58gr H2O ....
54.3ksi (or so) , w/ 20" barrel velocities of 2,580-ish fps.
Effectively you're duplicating internal/external 7.62 Nat'l Match ballistics.
YMMV, so don't make this a single data point firing test.

That long an OAL (3.218") won't feed through a Krag magazine, but could single load/jammed into the lands.
For God's sake (and anyone else's who might inherit that ammunition), label it with all sorts of HIGH PRESSURE/NOT FOR KRAGS warning stickies.

Like Loon, I don't recommend QuickLoad to the vast majority of reloaders;
...Just us really good-looking handloaders who have understanding wives.... `'cause it mean you gotsta have lotsa different toys....

The rest is arm-waving.
When I was logging, my chainsaw cost a thousand dollars. I needed it. My neighbor didn't log, so he had a little saw. He needed a 30" tree cut because it was going to fall in his yard.
I gladly helped him.
Some of us have a larger amount of tools for our reloading because it commonly used by him. Others, like my neighbor only need a relatively expensive tool once or twice in their life...
I'm going to purchase is because I have a bunch of oddballs.

Thanks very much! Getting 2610fps out of the Ruger 22” barrel, so that seems to match up with the QL data. 54k psi is very comfortable.

I have several Krag-Jorgensen rifles and Win 1895 in 30-40, so I’m very very careful about labeling ammo for the Ruger!

Thanks again.
