So I’ve noticed primer prices have increased at my 2 fav places to buy them.

Local gun show has offered Winchester and CCI for $29 per 1,000, now $36 and my go to, Fin Feather and Fur increased their prices up to $35 per 1,000. Cabelas wants $39 so I don’t even consider buying from them.

Has anyone else noticing an increase? I need to just pull the trigger on a case per size when the hazmat deals show up instead of buy 1K at a time.

I have not seen any increase in primer cost , if anything they have been on sale

I don't use anything but Federal in my revolvers since some have very light actions and won't shoot CCI. Federal can sometimes be hard to find, so about 2 years ago I started stocking up and I paid anywhere from $25 per K to $35 per K depending on where I found them. I'm certainly not rich by any means, but I'm not going to let a penny a round keep me from using what I prefer to use. Don't see many primers at guns shows any more except for some CCI and have no clue what they are going for. I know I have well over 25K on hand and if I get down to around 10K I will go on another buying spree. I much prefer to buy locally because having to be home and sign for hazardous primers never works for me. I have been told that you can now have primers delivered to Walgreens and that would work since they are open around here 24 hours. If I get low again, I'll check into that route, but will they might be $40k by then.

Last weekend Sportsmans Warehouse put primers on sale. $23 per thousand for Winchester, CCI & Remington. $24 for Federal. I didn't really need any but couldn't pass up that price. I made several trips over several days because I go by there often and didn't want to grab everything off the shelf at once - give the other guys a chance. I bought 9,000.

That's about what I did as well. I got about 8,000.

Fin will sometimes run sales on primers for a couple dollars off. Last time I bought Winchester primers there (summer of 2019) I think they were about $29. But at the time Winchester also has a MIR of 25% off. I think I paid $21/1k. Just gotta keep an eye out.

everywhere else seems to be similar pricing between $35-$39 range. With the exception of sportsman warehouse that just had a sale on primers.
Which fin do you shop at?

I buy on memorial day, labor day, independence day, black Friday, and Christmas.

My current average price per primer is 2.3 cents. [Thanks powder valley for that black Friday sale)

This has been a running cost over the last 30k of primers I've had. Current stock has me at 14k and I feel woefully under stocked.

Guess I should add, I'm a pistol reloaded only at this time

I don’t stock up on primers buying only a thousand each of the various sizes. At my age it’s a thing.....!
Anyway the HazMat Fee pretty much negates any savings over LGS prices.

Online order

Shipping plus hazmat

Came out to 2.3 cents per.

I wish I could get that local. Even that plus local tax

We've just had years of great prices and sales, hope y'all picked up some things. Sooner or later we'll have another bump in the road.

I'm pretty well stocked up but I check several of the on line stores now and then just to keep in touch with prices. I've noticed that Powder Valley went from $28 per 1000 WSP to $29. That's not much of an increase.

Unless I have to drive to a hospital or something, on line is better for me. Comparing Hazmat to an 80 to 100 mile round trip, paying Hazmat is usually easier and more time efficient for me, not counting gas.

The sale is still going for the Winchester primers at my closest location, they're $22.99. The CCI's were high at $34.99.

I feel like the problem is that the foreign primers have dried up and now there is nothing to keep the American companies honest. Stupid sanctions. I want my Norinco guns and tula primers......

Hmmm, maybe it’s just a case of supply and demand at the LGS. I’ll definitely keep an eye out online for hazmat deals

I usually order on line and try to hit sales. I tend to get three 5 pounders of propellant and a couple cases of primers at the same time. Spreading the Has Mat and shipping out over this size order ls still way lower than LGS prices unfortunately. If I can get things for 10% or less difference I always buy local though. Just make sure that wherever you buy from will ship both items in the same box or you will get a double set of fees. Powder Valley and Natches SS are a couple that combine in one box.
