AmmunitionStore Lower's Price of Primers!

Ammunition Store's owner was recently ordered to pay 2 employees back-pay of over $500,000 plus attorneys fees.
The ex-employees were sales reps that hauled ammo to and from gun shows. However, their transports were not legal and when they complained to the owner of Ammunition Store he simply fired them. Now he's on the hook for $612,000. Feel any better now?

That's comforting except for the fact that in all likelyhood his ex-employees will see little if any of that money.

Any online stores have primers in stock? I look every day and I guess I am too late.
If you are looking for popular reloading components, especially primers, you really need to keep a close eye on the "Reloading components/equipment" thread as in-stock primers were posted this morning and sold out quickly. Checking once daily may not be enough as popular items like 9mm bullets will often sell out within 15-30 minutes. If you subscribe to the thread, you'll get instant notification when someone posts in-stock items.

You can subscribe to the thread to send you an instant email when the thread is updated by opening the thread and clicking on "Thread Tool" and selecting "Subscribe to this Thread".

Then select "Instant notification by email". If you link your cell/smart phone with the email address, you'll get notification when you are away from the computer.

Besides the thread that bds recommends (and that's a great tip as to how to get an email to let you know when the thread is updated), your best bet is to check this link:

http://www.gunbot.net/reloading-supplies

You need to check it like you were voting in Chicago, i.e. early and often. I've managed to place three orders in the past month with hits from gunbot. But I do check it several times a day, and I also watch bds' thread several times a day also.

I have used gunbot but noticed that it sometimes lags behind actual listed vendor websites.

If you subscribe with the vendor, you may receive notifications faster.

If you really need components, do all three. :D

Gotta be persistant. I gave up awhile back and kept checking sites daily. Then bang. I hit Wideners and they had CCI primers. Got 5000 SPP. Happy day! Normal $30 or so per 1000 plus the haz mat.

I was reading all these posts and shocked at the prices of primers!!!

My local gun shop Nagels Gun Shop in San Antonio only limited people on buying one box (100) of SPP's per day. The prices were still the same (maybe 50 cents more than before). All other primers were fair game. And the last time I went they were only enforcing the "one box (100 primers) rule" for WSP (winchster small pistol primers). I bought a large box of CCI SPP's for the normal price of $30.00 (it may have been 35).

Next time I go to Nagels Ill check to see if they still limiting primers and see what their stock looks like.

On another note, I cant find Alliant 2400, HP-39, W-231 or Accurate No. 2 anywhere....crazy...

Supply & Demand (or what would Milton Freidman say...)

My favorite Uncle Milton would cheer the increase in primer (and other component) prices in the face of this avalanche of demand. How else are you going to clear the market? He would want every seller to raise their prices, and to everyone, including the Feds and Big Sis. At some point, the buying would slow down, or crash, as the majority of buyers would stop seeing the benefit of paying higher prices and either forego and/or delay their purchase, and/or merrily move on to spend their money on another, more reasonably priced hobby, past time or enjoyment. At some point, the market would clear, and equilibrium found. And, that equilibrium, for example, may be found at $35 or $37. The days of $27 might take a while to return, but at least there would be a supply of components available to all who want them. And, depending upon the speed at which capacity would/could be increased and brought to bear, higher prices does entice and bring more supply. However, in this day and age of Obama-regs and restrictions, and the barriers to entry erected by the status-quo with the sole intent of locking everyone else out of reaping their excessive rewards and in sharing in that good thing, capacity may be harder to increase to reap the benefit of higher returns and to give us that ready, steady stream of components. Anyway, I end with a quote from my favorite uncle... "The most important single central fact about a free market is that no exchange takes place unless both parties benefit." So… the guys out there buying the $60 primers are buying them because they feel they are getting a benefit (and the guys out there selling them for that price surely are...). We dumb ones are sitting by our computers and smart phones racing to scoop up whatever primers become available at $27 - $29. If the Grafs, Cabelas, Powder Valleys, Natchezs, etc. would also bump their prices to reflect the current supply/demand situation, how fast do you think this “shortage” would end?

Wolf at 35/1000

Checked my LGS this afternoon and they have a good supply of Wolf Primers at $35/1000. That's just about where they were before all the Chicken Little's started their rampage.
Seeing a gradual return to normalcy in Indiana, except for 22LR

still kicking myself for not maxing out the 70# hazmat with 70k wolf primers from wideners when they were $14/k just in december. I kept telling myself id wait til the end of december to order. well, shhtf and I was barely able to squeeze in my normal powdervalley order of tula primers. 5k lpp and 5k srp. with those primers and the ammo i have loaded up, I can do my normal 200 rounds a week for almost another year. Hopefully things will be back to normal by 2014

My LGS is 49.99 per 1000. I'm still not buying at that price til I get desperate, and I don't intend to get there until the fall.
