Mind if I ask what you boys are paying for small pistol primers? I have some Cabela's gift cards and they claim to have primers but at around $100 per thousand I just can't bring myself to pay that.
Thank you,
Rex

Check the reloading components pages , Most primers today are running $70.- 105.00 per K slightly less if purchased by 5K or more .
Typical primers today are costing $0.07- $0.10 each . It is what it is .

Two weeks ago I bought a brick of CCI 500 for $75 out the door. That was at Fin Feather Fur.

If I’m close to a Sportsman’s Warehouse I take advantage of their pricing. Since they have a limit of two sleeves I take advantage of the 150 count Fiochi primer sleeves.

Last week Sportsman's Warehouse had no limit on Fiocchi small pistol primers, and I got 1950 primers (13X150) for $108.04 out the door with the military/first responder discount. I've never used Fiocchi primers before, but it was cheap enough to take a chance. If they chrono ok with reliability similar to CCI, Winchester and Federal, I'll be loading up on them. Sportsman's seems to have a consistent supply of them showing up these days.

Thank you Boys. I'm an old man that grew up on a farm in Kansas and have shot all of my life. I guess now at 80 I guess it is time for me to hang it up, damned if I'll get robbed for components and ammunition.

I think ammo prices are getting some bit better, but depends on what cartridges you use. But Cabelas/Bass Pro is hard to find deals at unless you catch the sales. There are some sales on other components like bullets and brass…not primers yet.

Good luck with the hunt…I’m on it too.

I picked up some Winchester SPP’s at Cabela’s a couple of days ago for $79 and for a second I was actually excited about the price, until I realized how pathetic and conditioned I have become to the new normal….:fire::fire::fire::fire:

Yeah, but the prices are getting lower and now you can keep shooting..................:)
...................and realistically, we can still handload cheaper at the current prices than it is to buy factory munitions...................

No way, Rex……..
My dad is 86, and as long I can reload, he’s gonna shoot……!!!!
Keep your chin up and enjoy what you want……!!!:thumbup:

Wow, I bet the people who gave you those cards would want you to keep shooting no matter what the cost. That's why they gave them to you! Get the primers and enjoy yourself! Better that you cash in those cards than somebody else.

Our Sportsman's still has a 2 pack limit and only SP's. They also have some powder on the shelf and TAC is $36.99. I got a pound a couple of weeks ago and made some accurate loads for my 6.5G AR. I remembered a $50 gift card of my own that I got for my birthday over 2 years ago and dropped in today and got 2 packs of Fiocchi's and another # of TAC. AFAIC it was practically free!

Large rifle primers are just painful right now.....I only need a sleeve of 100, or maybe 2 of those, so no point in buying through the mail and paying hazmat. $15.49/100 at the local Cabela's, none at Sportsman's Warehouse, no other local suppliers......:(

Boys, I realize they are free to me but...........when we talk about inflation we have to take a hard look in the mirror. If we are willing to pay they are willing to take that price. We are part of the problem.
The same could be said for eggs, steak, gasoline, new and used cars, and a myriad of other consumer goods that affect my quality of life. If you want to give up reloading, or anything else, until prices come down to your liking, more power to you. :)

Savage 30L if you lived closer I'd give you 2-3 hundred I have more than I'll probably shoot and I don't shoot the old '06 much anymore.

I have more money than time, so I am going to shoot. 2023 round count 7,545 so far.

If that theory worked gas would be back down to 26 cents a gallon like when I started driving. ;)

I appreciate your offer. Yeah, it's a shame we can't all get together for a swap meet. I have all sorts of stuff I'll never use.

Edited to add: I have more small pistol primers than I need.
