Back in December I ordered about 5k in components to build .308. At that time I was able to get CCI BR-2 and IMR-4895.

Now I want more primers and I need more powder. As I look at MidwayUSA they are sold out. I've been able to find some 1lb containers of IMR-4895, enough to finish my 5k rounds. And I have cleared the shelves at the local stores in town to give me an additional 3k primers. My original source laughed at me when I asked for primers and powder.

Seems like that is six months with no real quantities of components available...

So my question is - how long do you think this is going to go on...??

Thanks,

Get used to it. As soon as OSHA does their thing and Hillary is elected you might want to take up knitting.

Also, I've shot a couple dozen of loads using the new Wolf primers they carry (albeit Small Rifle Magnums) and had no issues. Accuracy out of a match AR with irons was about the same as the Rem primers I used in the past.

Just ordered some powder from Powder Valley. Some primers were out of stock. I don't need any right now. I am going to try some Competition and True Blue. I don't really need any powder either. Just trying something different.

I ordered 5,000 Federal Small Pistol Primes, 2,000 Winchester WSPM primers and 7 lbs. of various powders last week from Powder Valley and I got everything I ordered within 5 days. (and at a very good price) I haven't seen a problem yet either.

Powdervalley's pretty good about restocking primers. I've managed to get 15,000 Fed SP primers from them lately. They go out of stock, but seem to get restocked fairly rapidly, even though we're in the midst (according to the internet at least) of the 2nd "Great Primer Shortage".

Based upon the responses, I wonder if only the high volume guys like Powder Valley are being restocked on a regular basis.

Thanks for the the feedback, BSR

Picked up 10# of powder and 7K primers this past weekend from my local shop. They had plenty more in stock, but I figured $300 in components was enough for one day. Cabela's had plenty 2 months ago too. I can't justify the huge order to pay for hazmat and shipping, so I don't buy primers or powder online.

Huh?
Not only does Widners have 8 pound jugs of IMR 4695 so does:
TnT Reloading
Bruno Shooters Supply
Midsouth Reloading
Precision Reloading

Just because Midway is out of stock doesn't mean the sky is falling.

I usually get P&P at gun shows. There's one every few months in this area (SE Penna) and supplies, so far, have been plentiful.

Yesterday I ordered 10K WSP primers and 22 lbs of various powders from Grafs. Painful pricewise, but I didn't seem to notice too many things being out of stock.
