Primers from gunbroker: Should I be mad?

I think what happened is that he didn’t have a pic of the outside of the box, and instead of taking one, he got lazy and saved a stock photo.

The payment process for that seller was a real hassle too. Credit card, but not instant; call it in. Then, he wanted written permission to charge the card. Lost that, asked for it again. I’ll have to make sure he didn’t charge me twice.

That’s what happens when you look for the cheapest price.
As the old saying goes, when you want something in the worst way that’s usually how you get it.

I bought a brick of CCI small pistol primers from a gunbroker seller. The item photo showed the retail box we're used to seeing.

What I got though was a plain box that was marked: "commercial primers - unplated - Not for resale."

Does the guy work for an ammo company and is skimming them?

Should I be mad? What does the plating do, besides make them look prettier? Make them more corrosion resistant if I leave them sitting somewhere bad for years and years?
It’s hard to be mad when you’re the one that purchased the item described but in all fairness there is no fairness.

for a one time purchase, no - live and learn. read the listing through - and it probably says pic for reference only, or whatever. some listing say - you'll recieve the actual item shown. if I had asked the seller, and expected a factory package, I'd just return it and find a new seller.

You got primers at a decent price delivered. No reason to be "mad". I expect the picture thing of the box is intentional. So maybe be just a little irritated while you decide whether to order more from this source. I have no idea how they got these primers and no idea how they ship them without Hazmat? Or was it a Hazmat shipment? But I have no reason to suspect foul play either.

And no Hazmat fee? There's that too.

He didn't ship it HazMat; lied to the shipper about it being HazMat to keep shipping low. It was well-packed in a small box, though. If there had been an issue and it started a UPS truck on fire, he would have been liable.

Well, the only thing I have to complain about is that the MAIN photo was not representative of the item I got. It's a bit shady, that's all. I wouldn't say I'm "mad", just that I'll go into the next gunbroker purchase armed with knowledge of one more possible trick.
