Priming tools, bench-mounted.

I was thinking of mounting the tool on a 2x4 and C-clamping it to the bench, very similar to what RFwobbly has in the photo.

I did in fact consider the RCBS priming tool with the APS strips but opted in the end for the non-APS version. I do think the APS strips add a layer of safety, how much is debatable but they add it nonetheless.

I use the old style RCBS bench mounted tool. I keep one set up for small primers and one for large. You can see them on the left side of my bench. I wouldn't trade them off for any other kind.

Your bench is way too neat, how do you find anything?

Well, I decided after all to mount the RCBS priming tool permanently on the bench, about 10 inches from the far-left end which seems to work great since I'm predominantly a southpaw. I primed 100 cases as a test.

This tool is flat-out AMAZING with respect to the tactile feedback on primer seating! It is virtually effortless to get 'em seated perfectly- I'm beginning to wonder how I ever got by without it.

It is no wonder why they still sell dedicated, bench-mounted priming tools. Truly extraordinary.
