Printing your own targets

You'll find plenty of targets free for the taking from people's front lawns after November 4.

I print my targets all the time using an epson ink jet and it works just fine. Ink costs are keep low, cause I buy ink cartridges on Ebay.

The heavy squares on benchrest targets are referred to as "aiming squares" from back in the "olden days" when they were the only things easily seen through the generally low powered scopes used in the late 40's and into the 50's and early 60's. Now their main purpose is that if mirage is heavy they might be the only things visible.

For targets that are going to be measured for group size "ivory" cardstock works well. I use the 110 lb weight which doesn't tear, gives nice clean holes, and runs through my printer.
