If you were a member of a marksman observer team for a corrections sniper teams, what rifle/carbine & caliber would you use?

Rifle

Greetings,

telewinz

on the rifle if its in a tower over looking the yard and if you had to take a short range shot 100 yds or less i would use a 20 inch barrel rifle that shoots sub moa like a Remmy LTR in 223 , if you need to target multi targets in that same range i would say a tuned 20 inch Bull barrel AR15 . if targets are over the 100 yard range and out to 300 yds i would move up to the 308 round either in a bolt rifle or a AR10 , if this was me i would want the most accurate rifle i could get for the job , when called upon its no different from a SRT rifle it has got to deliver a round in a precise placement . so my rifle of choice would be a 308 cal sub moa rifle with a Leupold M1LR .

Reminton 700 PSS for CERT team.

Our normal tower rifles here in Fl are Colt A2 HBAR Sporters with a Trijicon Reflex sight mounted on a forward carry handle mount.

The last place I worked for (Oklahoma) used open sighted Ruger Mini 14s.

Good Shooting

You are correct! Or at least thats what the WV DOC uses. I was curious if their were any Correctional Personnel on the High Road.

Since I work for a privatized federal prison, their precision rifles are Savages with Leupold scopes, some sort of AR variant (I haven't seen them because they only break them out for emergencies), Mosberg shotguns, and Ruger pistols. Gotta save those penies so you can pass them on to the shareholders.

When I was a jail deputy (jailed deputy back in the '80s), we use to have 22 LR for our Yard work. Now they've got ARs.
