Hello,
I have a private range on my parents property and I tend to pick the shot up lead out of the backstop. I don't really want to just leave the lead there for contamination purposes (I can't get it all but every little bit helps). Anyway I am not quite sure what to do with it. I don't cast my own and don't really want to.
I could scrap it at the junk yards, but that seems like a waste of pretty good lead that could otherwise go towards casting.
Would it just be better to sell it here on the high road to casters? Would I have to melt it down to get rid of the copper jackets? Or would my best bet just be to scrap it at the local junk yard? What is a fair price per pound selling for scrap and selling for casting?
