Pro/Anti family members?

Everyone in my immediate family likes guns except for the youngest grandson. He doesn't dislike them, just has no interest in them. My five year old great grand gurl loves shooting a bb gun and is looking forward to her first 22 rimfire. Her two year old sister had a great time this summer shooting a water pistol. Their mother, my only grandaughter, is planning on getting her CCW.

No fuss about guns around here.

I married a rancher's daughter, she can and does shoot, fish, clean game animals, likes camping, off-roading, and believes we should be independent and that we should own what ever we want. Her only down side is she drinks foo-foo drinks and hates beer. While not perfect, I can live with that

At this point, any remaining antis in my circle say their piece when I'm not there to discuss it. Most of the antis I've known have been converted.

My in-laws are kinda liberal, but avid shooters, plus, they know i'm a "gun-nut".

As for marrying an anti-gun person, don't do it. While you might think things will iron themselves out, you might be in for a surprise when before long, demands start to be made on your pleasures.

My wife grew up around firearms so there is no problem there. And none of my extended family members are anti-gun as far as I know. But I have seen problems in other families. The best attitude to take is this. Except for those you choose, you don't owe anyone anything in life. If they don't like your interests, that is their problem... not yours. You should not worry about whether or not you might offend someone or cause them discomfort and anxiety because you just happen to enjoy and love firearms. If they want to worry about this, let them. Just don't let them get under your skin.

yes, she loves guns, every time I have one out to clean, she always wants to touch it. she was using a square I had as a handgun, saying "Boom, boom". it wont be too long until I can teach her proper safety where'll she'll understand.

Mine got started on a .22 Cricket. When she was 5 years old I would take her to the range and make her recite the 4 rules before we started shooting.
Now she's 10 and likes to size and lube cast bullets with me. She's in the Little Ms Arkansas pagent this coming weekend. I told her if she needed a talent she could handload some ammo for them. I doubt they would like that though.

My wife never fired a gun til she met me. Nobody in her family owns a gun as far as I know.
My father and grandfather were a shooter/hunters. Wife doesn't shoot much, but likes the fact that I can and do shoot. We were married at least 10yrs before any of her family knew I owned guns. {low profile}

My brother has yet to ever fire a gun of any kind, which has perplexed me for my whole life. His wife doesn't say anything, but I don't think she like firearms one bit.
More perplexing than that, they both voted for Obama....TWICE!

I can't imagine this. One would only have to come to my house and it wouldn't take but a second to know. Handguns on both nightstands. Pump shotty in the corner.
Guns and Ammo magazines all over the place. There's usually a box of ammo or loose ammo or something gun related on the bar. (Just ask the wife. I catch hell a lot about that. )

my mom isn's the biggest fan of firearms, when we had to move back home due to some housing issues(landlord went in while we were gone and moved my handguns about) i told my mom that my guns came with us, she reluctantly said ok and you should have seen her face when i pulled up with my wife, son, pittbull, and a carload of guns and ammo.

A lot of my family was kind of scared of my collection, but they're from Illinois. So I informed my uncle (a hunter) and let him sort them out. Rural Illinois, thankfully. Even my more liberal family from Colorado, Washington, or Oregon either grew up with a hunter or want to go play with it. They're generally "legalize everything" liberal.

Mom tolerates pretty much anything as long as it's in a holster or locked up.
My dad taught me how to shoot, encourages shotguns and hunting rifles, revolvers in the house, tolerates 'range toys' as he calls pretty much anything else--he was raised where guns were to put food on the table and a shotgun or .38 meant trouble (in his youth) or kept vagrants out of the garage--but is uncomfortable and was utterly amazed that I carry.

I had to remind him that I am not hanging around the group he did in his younger days, and that I've been actively threatened for being light-skinned. He's not likely to get much of that because he's 6' 7".

My wife grew up in an anti home, but has always been supportive. Took me about six years to get her to shoot. She now has her hcp. My mother was.never.anti but as she has gotten older.she is far more pro. She got her hcp at 57 and carries daily now. People often change.

My wife has never been anti-gun, although she sometimes has issues with the amount of money I spend on guns and related stuff.

The news coming out of nearby Detroit convinced my formerly hoplophobic wife that we should both get our CCW/CPLs. Her Japanese family were a bit hesitant, but decide that since they trusted her, and since Detroit was nearby, they would be non-judgemental.

Her father has shot at least some skeet or trap, and a cousin hunts birds with a shotgun on his farm. Japan is not totally gunless.

I have a cousin who is a die hard rabid anti gun New York liberal. We don't talk. Except at the rare family gathering when we both happen to be under the same roof.

My grandmother is also pretty anti gun. Don't know why, don't ask. I don't carry into her home out of respect, but I don't hide my guns or the fact that I carry.
