I'm watching a show called "Crime Strike" on KCAL TV in the L.A. area.

They just finished a segment with a man who successfully defended himself with a handgun. The last statement was "The gun came in handy" or words to that effect. I didn't write down the quote. The show had a reenactment showing how the man used his handgun, a 1911 variant, and a flashlight to engage the bad guy and hold him for the polce.

There are three segments in the show and all of them voice the need for self reliance instead of relying on someone else.

:what: The show just ended with a short statement by Wayne Lapierre. I knew it couldn't have been a true Hollyweird show.

Did someone jack the satellite feed?

We could use some more of that "subversive" programming.

:what: :what: :what: I can't believe it myself...:uhoh: Are you sure it's not some Liberal joke...and we're still waiting for the punch line?:scrutiny:

No joke, folks.

I could hardly believe it myself. Here I was, minding my own business reading THR, when all of a sudden I am assaulted by the sound of someone standing up for himself.:what:

How dare the TV station owners allow such open minded thinking to be broadcast in the People's Republic of California.

What's next, a class on how to improve your IPSC score offered at UC Berkley?:scrutiny:

"Crime Strike" is produced by the NRA using the donations of NRA members. It is one of their efforts to show instances where guns have made a positive difference.

It is also basically a paid infomercial in most places.
