My magazines will not fully seat. When I pull back the slide to load a round into the chamber the slide will not come foreward unless I push the bottom of the mag up into the frame. Anything I can do or am I going to have to send this gun back to Kahr?
What a bummer, I have not even got to shoot it yet and I am already having problems.

You should be able to see where it is hanging up? If you can, it would give an indication of what the problem is.

MP9? or do you mean PM9?

I have the PM9 and haven't had any of the problems you are describing. Can you go into a little more detail, have you tried loading the mag with only 3 or 4 bullets and seeing if that worked? Could it be a bad magazine? I guess a little more info might help.

There's not enough info to rule this one in or out, so I'll suggest it anyway.

Try locking the slide back with an empty mag, then remove the empty and insert the full. If it seats properly, POINT IN A SAFE DIRECTION, and drop the slide using the slide lock release lever.

If that doesn't work, call Kahr.

Quite frequently, the spring pressure on a fully loaded magazine will keep the mag from seating with the slide closed. After being loaded for a while, the mag USUALLY will allow you to seat it fully loaded with the slide closed (assuming you'll be "topping off")

Onslaught,
I think that you are on to the problem. If the slide is locked back and I put a magazine in and release the slide it will close. If the slide is already in the normal forward position and I put a magazine in then pull the slide back to cycle a round the slide will not close over the round. Hopefully it is not a big deal. The PM9 is a neat little gun. I can't wait to shoot it. I am off today to take my ccw class. I won't be shooting the Kahr though. Either My Wilson or Kimber.
Thanks guys
As a new member of this site I would just like to say it seems really great so far and everyone has been very helpful.

Ford,

Unless you have not already noticed, your springs are rather strong!!
The gun is rated for +P+ ammunition loaded to 1300fps!!
I have an MK9 Elite that has over 1000 rounds through it and I still have trouble pulling that 'ol slide back to chamber the first round!!!
Nothing wrong with your gun, you just have really really really really... strong springs!!! ;)
Lock the slide back, put a loaded mag in, realease the slide and shoot at least 200 rounds through the pistol. I would recommend 500 rounds!! Kahr mandates that you put at least the minimum 200 rounds through it to break it in!! I bet that after you do that, your troubles will go away!!! :D

I had a chance to shoot it for a couple seconds today. Literally a couple of seconds. I put two mags through it. I will have to wait untill next week so I can get to the range. The rounds that I did put through it all went ok. I can pull the slide back no problem. It still wont close on a full mag. unless the slide is locked back before I put the magazine in and then push the slide release. Hopefully after a few hundred rounds it well work it's self out. Other than this problem it seems like a nice little gun.

Hey thanks
Yep, I passed :p :D :) ;)
Now I have to wait untill the second week of October before I can apply for my ccw permit.
