trying to deprime brass with head stamp IK 03 and 5.56x45, but the depriming pin of my lee die stuck in the flash hole and pulled out of the die, I had to knock it out of the flash hole with a punch, and reinstall in the die. tried a second time and same thing happened, the flash hole is much smaller then my lake city brass. what happened?

Had the same problem with some Asian brass. Broke a couple of pins. IK is Yugoslavian brass. May be the same situation with the small holes. I switched to an RCBS universal decapping die and after working through the batch and shooting them, the second round was fine.

These are military or military style brass that have crimped primer pockets. I don't know where it came from, but I got a set of .223 rcbs dies used and it had a punch made to decap these, just fits into the case and has an indestructible pin. I have punched out several with this. Then they need to be swaged to take out the crimp so it can be primed. Mac

Lee makes a decapper pin and base for crimped primers, that is guaranteed not to break. It's a little slow, but a great way to decap either 5.56 or 7.62 rounds. They make one for each caliber. All you need then is a hammer. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=297408&t=11082005

And they do stick by their guarantee. I just broke the .30 caliber decapper that I bought way back in 1987. I sent it in and had a replacement in the mail the following week.

Buy a Universal Decapper Die, it's the easieast way to go.
I deprime all my 223/5.56 brass this way before putting it in my Blue Kool-Aid Machine.

Hmmm...

I'm the newbie to this side of the sport, so I generally don't hand out much advice.

But, not knowing the difference when I started, I deprimed at least 400 .223 cases with crimped primers, using the standard Lee size/decap die for this caliber.

I had no problems at all, so I imagine that the problem might be more involved than just crimped primers? (at least based on my limited experience)
