I emailed this to Mossberg a few days ago, but have yet to get a reply so I thought I'd try a couple forums.

I own the Mossberg 500A Combo which I purchased new about a year ago. I recently bought a "Regal series deluxe walnut checkered shotgun stock set" on Ebay. The problem is that the new forend is too long for the original action slide tube. I measured the original tube part at about 6-1/2" while the new forend appears to need a slide tube of about 8-7/8". After an internet search I found that this longer length action slide tube does exist.

So my main questions are:
Is this in fact the right slide tube length for the Regal series?
Will the longer 'action slide tube assembly' still work with my shotgun?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Either forearm assy should work just fine in your gun.

Yes, you will have to replace the slide assy to use the longer forearm. They came in both lengths, depending on year and version changes.
