Problems Backordering a 6" K Frame 617

This week I ordered a 6" K Frame Model 617 from the only gunstore that was willing to back order this or any S&W revolver for me! There are none to be had anywhere near here. So if it takes 3 months to come in, so be it, I'm willing to wait for it and pay the price for it, it's the only .22LR handgun I'm willing to spend money on. I had a 4" 617, but I traded that for a 627 that I wanted, and it was a good trade. So I want another 617 but in 6". The Ruger SP-101 or the Taurus 94 just don't cut it for me.

Anybody else having problems trying to order a S&W revolver?

Yeah, but my problem stems from them not even making the models I want haha.
I'm not too picky! I just want a 2-3" M66 or a 2-3" Or 5-6" M69. I have 4" guns already, I'm hoping for just one released this year. I couldn't afford it if they came out with all three!

Roger That! Where are all those revolvers listed in my 2014 S&W catalog?

No, but then the only recent gun they've made was that 69 I got. If you have not, I suggest at least handling an early '70s made 17 before continuing pursuit of a 617.

Yep, I found a 17-6, the LGS wanted 6 bills for it, the bluing was decent but the Herrett bullseye target grips with the thumb rest that were on it were awful, and the original grips weren't in the deal. Considering what a decent set of target grips would cost, I'm within about 50 bucks of what the new 617 is costing me.

I have had great luck finding new S&W revolvers at D&L Hunting & Outdoor in RI.
Very good pricing and service, too.
Seems as if they have a pipeline from the factory.
Best to phone them as they don't list everything on their site.

Thanks for the lead, they just sold a 4" 617, I wanted a 6" but I once had a 4".
