Many people complain about the quality/longevity of P22s and often compare it to a ruger mk or similar that will never wear out. I understand the slides material is second rate but for the weight of the gun every other material would give it a round count right? I hear about 140000 rounds for alot of ppl p22 and feel this is reasnoble for such a lightweight package. I am however concerned about when the slide does crack

After about 800-1,000 in mine, I traded it off. Showed too much wear, figured it to be only good for 3,000 to 5,000 rounds. Will never buy another Walther.

I have no idea how many rounds I've put through my P-22. I used to go shooting often and after 100 rounds with my P-99, I'd easily fire 500 with the P-22. I would say that I'm well over 10,000 by now.

I know that many people have had bad experiences with the P-22, but I love mine.

Hated mine!

Total jam-o-matic with everything but CCI Mini-Mags.

Finally had enough after one particularly embarassing range session and sold it.

Good riddance.

Got a few thousand rounds through mine with no problem.
It doesn't like Federal bulk, but other than that it's been great.

We bought two into the shop at the same time with very close serial numbers. One went to one of our employees and the other the other got turned into this video/gamey, movie hitman fun gun.

Based upon early issues with the other gun, I smoothed the interface between the slide stop and the slide and polished some other aspect of the slide (can't remember just what and given all the hero parts, it's not so simple to disassemble to check) and this one runs well and hasn't given issue with any old estate sale leftover ammo we through through it.

I like mine. It's hosting my Alpine 22 in this picture with a Glock sporting a Trident-9. I understand the newer ones are better as far as out of the box reliability. But with a little light reading and a couple files/honing stones, you can get a great shooter. (Using the "Bible" as your guide.) LINK HERE.
