I'm in the process of building a Limited gun on an STI frame/slide kit. I've built up a few 1911-style guns over the past few years, but this is my first widebody gun.
For trigger components, I decided on the Light Ultra Match kit from Cylinder & Slide.
I normally don't expect pre-fit 1911 trigger kits to fit without some work, so I was delighted to find that the C&S kit not only dropped right in, but also produced exactly the 3.5-pound trigger pull claimed in the instructions. I went ahead and fitted the thumb and grip safeties with no additional prep on the trigger parts. After tweaking the sear spring (according to Jack Weigand's method) and replacing the mainspring with a 17-pound ISMI, I came away with the best trigger I've ever felt. 2-1/4 pounds, minimal takeup, no overtravel, and the trigger breaks with no perceptible movement.
The C&S Light Ultra Match trigger kit gets two thumbs up, as does the STI 2011 frame and slide kit. Looking forward to finishing the gun and getting it to the range...
