My BIL had a nice chunk of a burled hardwood we think it is Maple Burl. We decided to see if we could make a nice set of 1911 grips for his Springfield. Took several days of messing with them. I think they turned out really nice. They are finished with many coats of tung oil finish.
We are going to see about getting some other wood, right now we have enough of this same wood for two more sets if anyone is interested. We are going to offer them as part of my custom work website.
You can email me if you are interested. I wanted to take a picture so you guys could tell us what you think.
