I have a cut down Chinese T53. Before anyone starts, I've measured the barrel and its legal so there are no issues with it being a SBR. Since it is cut down, there isn't a "value" to it so I want to make a project gun out of it. I'm looking for it to be rugged, reliable, accurate and lightweight. Its already accurate with a good/sharp bore so I'd only be looking to improve it. However, I need some ideas. I also want this to be a sleeper/unassuming rifle.
Here are my thoughts:
-Iron sights. They're simple and rugged. I don't want to tap the receiver for a decent scope mount. Are there better iron sights such as Firesights?
-Lightweight. I kinda like the "Mannlicher" look that it has so it there a way to lighten the stock?
-Accuracy. As I said, its accurate but I know I can get more out of it. Would it be better to cork the barrel or maybe glasbed/float the barrel? Should I think about putting a recessed crown on it?
Here are some photos of it compared to its "big brother".
