I found a old Bishop Mannlicher full length stock for my Swedish mauser, I have a ton of old bedding to chip out. I'm going to fit a walnut buttplate and TRY to fit a custom nosepiece from an 8 point I took a few years back. I say try because I don't know if this is something I'm capable of fitting so it looks right, I always have the steel cap to fall back on.
Here is what we start with:

A rough mock up just to see how much work we have:

nice rifle, id be interested in seeing what it looks like once that nose cap is finished

Gonna be pretty.

Always liked Mausers stocked this way. Have a G33-40 in .338 Win Mag set up like that. It's a kicker, with nothing but a checkered steel Neidner buttplate between it's stern and my shoulder... but it's sure a shooter.

Keep showing pics, between that stock and the lovely caliber it ought to be a real gem.

I love the look of full stocked rifles, especially of the Mauser variety. Keep us updated as to your progress and here's hoping it turns out great.

Got some more progress made on the antler nosecap, I plan on making the tail end flush with the stock, just not sure if I have enough clearance from the muzzle blast.

I wasn't happy with the smaller piece of antler so I went with another antler crown, epoxied and ready for final finishing.

Lookin good, keep them coming. I also love mannlicher stocks. It looks great with the old straight tube scope. Weaver?

My old lady's brother got a hell of a deal on a 7x57 with a beautiful mannlicher stock and old classic scope and mount... I might have to try to talk him out of it.

I'm really enjoying all of these work in progress photos. Anxiously awaiting the finished rifle.

Thank you for the kind notes, Plan on dropping the floorplate and the grip cap off at the engravers today.
Got the front mannlicher type bar sling swivel and rear stud ordered.
Still on the to do list is finish checkering, bed the action, find a decent
rear sight where I didn't carry over the peep sight, hood for the front sight
and a nice rust blue.
I'm hoping when all is said and done I will have something that will be represenative
of what I am capable of restoring/customizing firearms, a showpiece if you will. Regardless, its still going to hit the woods come fall.

Front sling post, rear sling stud and hood for front sight came in and installed.
Still waiting on bottom metal at local engraver, still have to bed stock and checker.
