Seems to confirm that for $50 you can get quite a bit of knife performance wise and there is a point of diminishing returns in terms of dollars spent.

Where that point is depends on importance of personal preferences

Maybe sometimes that gets lost in all the talk about super-steels and stainless vs. high carbon, domestic vs foreign manufacturer, etc. I have gotten a lot of solid use out of knives that are made of some generic stainless steel that the manufacturer won't even identify.

My Kershaw is heavy, my Opinel takes both hands, my Kabar/Dozier is just right.
I don't have any $100 or even $50 knives.
