ProMag Pistol Magazines

I have two Pro mags for my P99. They are reliable about 90% of the time. The funny thing is they are supposed to be 15 rnd mags and one holds 14 the other holds 13.
Range mags only.

I too have had mixed results w/ Pro-Mag & Triple-K.
Pro-Mag: Ruger 15rd mag for P95/PC9...Junk, Hi-Power mag Good to go.
Triple-K: Hi-Power Mag...junk, Walther P5 Good to go.

It's hit & miss w/ those two companies...mostly miss it would seem from most people's experiences, I consider my self lucky to be at half 'n' half.
As a side note I have over 500 rds out of my Pro-Mag HiPower "range" mag w/ no mals, and 200+ rounds out of the Triple K P5 "range" mags w/ no malfunctions and no signs of breakage, feed lip cracks, deformation, weaking of springs, etc....
Will I buy from either again? no, probably not, too much of a gamble...

I have one for my XD that I use as a range magazine, it functions fine, no misfeeds. All of my carry/defense magazines are factory springfield armory, 9 of'em.:)

So far the outlook is dismal. The magazines sound like they're junk based on most of the feedback here. Gun magazines aren't something that are supposed to fail with any degree of regularity because it can get someone killed. If MecGar can produce magazines that consistently work, so should ProMag. The idea that so many of you have these things and they end up in junk boxes is unconscionable.

I'm going to contact Midway tomorrow and ask them what their experience is and what I've been told here. The mags are just a low ticket item that most people don't bother to return, which is a shame.

I've inherited a couple of ProMags through the years with guns that I've purchased in private sales. One of them, for a Walther P99 in 9mm, feeds all right but won't allow the slide to lock once the last round is fired. The second, for a Walther PP in .22 caliber, is strictly a hit-and-miss proposition: sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, regardless of the type of ammo that's run through it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate the ProMag as an unlikely prospect for a purchase unless nothing else at all was available. Tossing your money to the wind and hoping that it lands on the bulls-eye down the road is as good a bet as getting a consistently working ProMag, IMO.

I'm batting .500 with promag. When I bought my SIG P220, it came with 2 factory mags, a mecgar and a promag 10 rounder. The promag is a jam-o-matic.

I picked up a SIG p6 mag that has been 100% to date. It still only sees range use...I just cant bring myself to carry a promag for "serious" purposes.
