Promags...
Generally have a reputation for being crap, but despite their best efforts, they sometimes make good magazines. It's a hit/miss proposition, but you can find some for some models that work well.
Back when the magazine ban was still in effect, the Pro-Mag magazines for the CZ-75 Compact in .40 -- a gun that CZ never got around to actually making under THAT nomenclature -- worked beautifully in CZ-75 9mm compacts, and held 14 rounds. They were widely used by members of the CZ Forum without problems. Later, when the ban ended, they were still a good alternative, as the factory mags were very expensive.
I've had some Pro-Mags for other guns, like some a couple of Beretta 92, and they worked well. Ditto a few for S&W 2nd generation guns. If I have other options, I go elsewhere, but if don't, I'll try one -- very tentatively.
The original poster's question wasn't as off-base as it might seem. Those mags may be a good alternative... and buying one to find out won't be THAT expensive -- f someone shares the results, here.
