I have an old Beeman model 850 pistol and I am curious as to what the proper luberication and any other maintainance would be reccomended.

Wow,thats an old one!! I believe those are Diana Model-6 that Beeman imported several decades ago under their name as the 850,which is the recoilless version of this pistol. Its a spring-piston(springer) so the same basics as any spring-piston gun should apply.

It probably needs to be completely stripped down, piston inspected, old grease and oils removed, new breach seal and piston material replaced(if synthetic),re-lubed with correct lubes for spring guns.

If you go to do it yourself you need some kind of a spring compressor to ease out the mainspring. Correct lubes/parts can be had from James Maccari.
