Uberberzerker, I took it out and shot it today after giving it a good cleaning. Now I can actually compare my impression of the Bersa T9UC vs the HS2000/XD
The DA first trigger pull on the Bersa is long, but it's smooth, and once I got used to it, I had no problem putting my first shot on target. The SA trigger pull for all subsequent shots is nice and crisp in my opinion; however, you have to realize that I've never fired a pistol that has had a professional trigger job, so I can't compare the Bersa's trigger pull to the "best" match pistols. The "best" trigger I had experienced before I started shooting semiauto pistols was the trigger on my Swiss K31.
The HS2000 trigger has the advantage of having no DA pull for the first shot. I was surprised at how "invisible" the grip safety was to my hand. It's hard for me to get used to the idea that the pistol is "safe" when both of its safeties are naturally deactivated by the simple act of gripping the pistol and putting my finger on the trigger.
Despite how light the HS2000 felt in my hand, recoil wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I don't know if it's the ergonomics or something else, but the pistol didn't "snap" or anything. The felt recoil of this pistol was very similar to the felt recoil from my steel Bersa, but that may not be a fair comparison, since my Bersa is the ultra compact model and the HS2000 is full size.
Which one am I going to use as my primary carry weapon? The Bersa.
1. I shoot tighter groups with the Bersa.
2. The Bersa is smaller and easier to conceal, but its weight helps manage felt recoil.
3. The Bersa, despite being smaller, has a higher capacity mag (for now).
4. I'm more comfortable with the Bersa's decocker and DA first trigger pull than I am with the grip/trigger safety of the HS2000.
I don't regret buying the HS2000 at all, but it just doesn't make sense for me to carry a full size 9mm pistol with a lower mag capacity than my compact 9mm, especially considering that I'm a better shot with the Bersa right now. TO BE CLEAR, I'm not saying that the HS2000 is not accurate. I just need more practice with it. I like its grip angle, and it is very "pointable," so I'm sure my accuracy with it will improve with time. I've only taken it to the range once.
