Last night my fiancee and I watched an entertaining, although admittedly brainless, movie last night called "Man of the House." It stars Tommy Lee Jones as a Texas Ranger who goes undercover to protect cheerleaders who witnessed a crime. In one scene, Tommy Lee Jones shot a criminal who pointed a gun at him. During the commercial break my fiancee pointed out that the shot, skilled as it was, was a dangerous one to take as there were several bystanders behind the criminal and in the line of fire. I agreed with her (although I probably could have pointed out that sometimes circumstances dictate that a shot be made in less than ideal situations) and am proud of the fact that she is so mindful of the four rules.

My girlfriend is new to shooting, but has taken to it very enthusiastically...she now rather enjoys pointing out various mistakes in gun handling as portrayed in the media...one night she called me at work to inform me that one of the cop shows needed to hire "someone that actually knew something about firearms" because of the multiple mistakes...a couple of her "favorites" were fingers on triggers and sweeping the support hand while re-holstering.
