PSL vs. Saiga

I'm guessing that the Saiga will prove slightly more accurate, and will have a better trigger. Being more heavily based upon an AK receiver, it most certainly will be better supported in terms of parts and accessories.

I'm guessing that the Saiga Drag-style stock doesn't work well for ya if you're shooting southpaw, huh? In that instance, the Ace stock (like JWarren has) may be just the ticket...

PSL PSL

i have the PSL and really like it although i haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, it is recomended that you shoot light ball surplus or the wolf 148 to 150 grain ammo through it.

the heavy ball stuff will beat the crap out of the bolt and reciever.

The stock Saiga trigger is pretty much crap. Has a weird back and up pull, almost like a 1919.

When you convert to use standard AK parts, you have to swap to a std AK FCG. Mine has a RSA adj., and the 2nd stage breaks clean at about 2-3 lbs.

I always wanted a "real" PSL/Romak, but at the time they were hard to find, and running at $800 - 900. Mine ended up about $200 less, and I already had a few other 308's, so it meant no new ammo.

Now that I have a couple Mosins and ammo... may have to revisit the PSL.

Wow - I really don't mind it at all. It's certainly worlds better than the 223/7.62x39 arrangement and dangerously close to the G2 in terms of feel...
