Winkler is a professor of constitutional law at UCLA Law School.
Winkler is a flaming liberal. If his view of the 2nd Amendment is as he discusses it in the article, he should not be allowed inside a classroom where the subject of Constitutional law is being discussed. The 2nd Amendment makes NO mention of "reasonable" restrictions -- unlike the amendment dealing with protection against "unreasonable" searches and siezures. The RKBA is absolute. "... shall not be infringed." What's so bloody difficult about that?

I heard similar arguments in the 1960s about what would happen if black people were given full voting rights. Recast his article in those terms and see how it reads.

I have always said: those who deny the second amendment rights for lawful american citizens...

are no different than those who argued to deny the basic human rights of "the blacks", "the women", "the asians" etc..

Because of people like Winkler, freedom is in danger, let alone public safety run by potential dictators nonetheless...

OMG guys, can you imagine if the entire country was reduced to the crime-infested war zone that is Vermont?

The horrors!
