Pug AnyOne ???????????/

Picked up a Charter Arms Bulldog PUG 44 this evening from a friend. Anyone out there own or shoot one?

Used to have one actually two loved them. They both shot a foot low at 15 yards. Never could regulate them,but then again they are not a target gun. Make sure you get ammo with a good crimp, because they will back the bullets out and lock the gun up. Georgia arms was the only factory ammo that was crimped tight enough to prevent back up.

I had one years ago. It shot okay, was reasonably accurate for a belly gun and had a decent action. Once in awhile it would skip a chamber or improperly index if debris got between the crane and frame when the cylinder was closed after reloading. This occurred during longer shooting sessions with it.

It didn't seem built for alot of shooting. Of course, the small guns typically aren't built heavy. All in all, it was worth what I paid for it.

I have a 30 year old Charter bulldog 44 special..

that I carried for several years IWB and it gave me great comfort just looking at those big 200 gr 44 bullets. It is a fine choice for carry .

The last one I had was the stainless version with the 2.5" barrel and like the first one I owned, the original blue 3", it had the bad habit of dis-assembling itself as it was fired. The Pug's trigger pin would walk with as few as two cylinder fulls and the center pin screw backed out a little with each shot. If allowed to keep going, it would eventually unlock itself.

I have always like the looks of the older Charter Arm's revolvers (from the 1970's?)

Can't speak for the newer editions. I had one of the older Pathfinders in .22lr; it was a neat little gun that functioned flawlessly- stupidly traded for something else

I have two, an original blued one from the real Charter Arms company and a stainless one from the Charter 2000. They are my primary carry guns now along with my Taurus 415 and 425 revolvers. I carry revolvers now because autos are no longer an option for me to carry now.
