Pump shotgun: What is "twisting or binding"?

I have heard of this happening, but have never experienced it when using dad's old model 12 or my model 17 in my youth or my current 37 when dove hunting and having to take numerous second and third shots at birds. All of these guns "only" have 1 action bar.

Yes, and on the opposite side much money has been made over the debate
over which gun is faster shooting! Those Winchester Model 12's are slick as greased lightening
and with the right shooter will/can out shoot any autoloading gun made.
Not bad for a single action bar gun, so much for twisting
