I put a EOTech 517 on one of my ARs a few weeks ago, was easy to install and zero'd quickly. So far I am pleased with it.

I would have to agree with you 100%, I got mine zero'd very fast. I know my friend wanted something with zoom so I got this from him. But I love it, and my eyes are still pretty good so it will work for now :D

Thanks for the views and thumbs up, it helps me make these videos!

I have nothing but good things to say about my Eotech XPS2-0. Battery life is more than enough for a civi, holds zero, easy target acquisition, fantastic sight picture, etc.

i've had mine 2 years and with 1500 rounds.

My oldest son was home over the weekend and we did some shooting, he has shot quite a bit with the eotech, aimpoint and acog and we were putting 5 rds into a 1.5 bull at 100yds without to much trouble with an acog and eotech. How is your shooting?
For me the eotech is the finest non magnified sight out there and out to 100 it will out shoot some using a scope.

Xtap, that is some mighty fine shooting.

When I moved mine out to 100M, I was able to keep them all within a 4inch circle, with cheap ammo. That is plenty good if I see any of those mangy coyotes around...

Edit: Oh and you talking about outshooting people with scopes...Funny I was having better groups then other people with magnified scopes on the range that day.

My eotech doesn't save the brightness of the reticleswhen I turn it on and off....

It's a 512. Is this normal?

DennisRL,

I assume that you are turning it off by pressing both the up and down buttons at the same time? If not, try that.

But, yes it should save the brightness setting for you when you turn it back on...If not I would give them a call and ask.

No my model has a center power button. That's how i turn it on and off.
I think it is possible that you are turning it on/off using the "Night Vision" button. If you have the owners manual still, I would thumb through it and see what it instructs you to do if you turn off the sight.

Because on the 512 like mine, you hold the up/down buttons at the same time.

The center button does not turn the Eotech off. It toggles the reticle to the night vision setting.

It is still on, but so low that you can't see the reticle without nods.

As said, you press both up and down buttons simultaneously to turn it off.

However it will shut off automatically 4 or 8 hours after the last button press, depending on which button you pressed to turn it on.

Thank you Destructo6 for clarifying.

And I want to thank everyone for view my video, the thumbs up, and clicking the ad. It is helping my Ammo fund ;)

I have an older NV one (i think it's like a 552) and a 512 and don't recall them saving the brightness after turning them off. It's kind of annoying, every time I turn it on i have to hit the increase brightness button a few times. I'll contact eo tech and see if thats normal.

Even when I turn it off by pressing both buttons it still doesnt retain its brightness setting. I guess I need to call EoTech.

Instructions for mine say that brightness goes to level 12 when it's turned back on.

I have the xps2.0 and love it! I like that the dot is not too big! I generally just use mine to 50 yards. I did shoot at a silhouette at 100. The group was about 6 inches. Would be better if I had younger eyes.

I took mine off an AR I sold and mounted it on a new one and it was still right on. No zeroing needed!

Great sight!

I also have the xps 2-0 zeroed at 50yds and to my surprise I can hit my 4"x8" steel plate that is at 200yds everytime from a rest. That little dot sure stands out.
