:D I am very excited to pick it up in a couple weeks. From what I have heard and read the -7 is the last variation with the firring pin on the hammer and no mim parts. Is this correct?
An older gentleman had traded it in to my LGS and it almost looks unused on the forcing cone and locks up beautifully! It has no box or papers, but did come with a very nice black leather OWB holster that looks like it will conceal well under a shirt or jacket. The grips are Uncle Mikes, which I like, but I am glad I have my Dads unused Magnas off his 66-1 for the times it needs to look spiffy.
Hopefully I will have it in my mitts by or before the 1st, and I will show pics and a range report. Feel free to share M19 experiences and pics, Thx alot.

With those Uncle Mikes grips and newer cylinder release latch that is hard gun to beat.

Looking for one myself, but I'm not going to buy one sight unseen on line hence it may take awhile to find one at a LGS since most folks are dialed into them these days I don't think I will find a bargain...but ya never know.

I would pay full retail for a local inspectable one.

Ya, I would not buy one on line either. I did have to pay a premium i feel ($500) but it came with a real nice OWB leather holster, and the wife put $100 down on it for my B day, so it wasnt too bad. The thing is a dream to shoot and suprisingly accurate for a snub.
I have always thought my dads 66-1 snub is the most beautiful revolver I have ever seen, and now I got a blued one!:neener:

Love my S&W's!

Actually, in today's market $500 for the snub nose model isn't all that bad. Anyway, a gun is worth what you're willing to pay for it and if you are happy it's worth the price...

Yes $500 is not a lot for quality gun like that. The problem is some old guys still think candy bar is 10c and new car $3500.

I'd buy at that price without a doubt. Heck a decent poly pistol as almost that much or more these days. I'd buy a 19 and a 66 in that manufactured time frame, and condition for that price. Box and papers would have been nice but not a deal breaker for a shooter and not a SQ.
