I have a basic AR in the safe already, but had been thinking for a while about putting another one together for the fun of it now that prices are settling down. I subscribe to the KISS mindset while still having a appreciation for tastefully executed tricked out tactical builds.

I've always had a thing for the "Dissipator" style rifles, and when PSA put their "mock dissipator" upper on sale, I snagged one along with their premium full-auto BCG. This upper uses an FN chrome-lined 1:7 barrel and a low-profile mid-length gas block.

I waited for a deal on a PSA classic LPK and purchased an Anderson lower locally. Fulton Armory sent the A1 stock kit. I grabbed a milspec charging handle and carry handle from a non-airsoft ebay seller.

The parts all fell into place as easy as I could have hoped and an initial test firing was successful. No real gripes, just need to upgrade the grip to something larger. Finishes match pretty well. The stock came with a plastic butt plate, but it seems sturdy and fits tight.

I'm into it all for about $680. I could have done better with more patience, but am satisfied and know that someday down the road I'll be glad I built a spare.

Solid mid length build! :)

You are likely right about this, "someday down the road I'll be glad I built a spare." The old saw, "One is none, two is one", comes to mind.
