Anyone here have one of the Beretta PX4 pistols? I like the way they look and feel. I could be interested in getting one in 9mm if the price and reliablity are good.

Very nice...

I have one in 9mm and it is a very good shooter. I have never had a single jam or FTF and it is very accurate. I highly recommend the PX4.

BTW, they are releasing the PX4 in .45 in a few months.

If it had the "three-way" safety system like on the 9000S I'd have bought one. But I don't like DA/SA guns and quit buying them. Otherwise I liked what I saw when I looked at them.

Cougar

Check out the Cougar 8000. Looks like the storm, comes in 9mm and 40 S&W.
Like to see them come out with a 45 also.
Stoeger is the people that are getting the Cougar make in Turkey and are a subsidiary of Beretta.
G&A has a write up on it.

I liked this gun. The price was right, and never a jam, but I sold it and kept my 92 series pistols to maintain familiarity with one operating system, and to keep magazine compatibility. Basically it became a safe queen to the Vertec, 92fs, and 90-two, which I shoot better and have been using longer.

Nothing against the pistol though - good ergos, trigger comparable to most DA/SA pistols, and 17 + 1 rounds of 9mm is nothing to sneeze at.

Huh? The Cougar and the Storm don't look alike and they are very different guns. They share the Beretta name and the rotary lock-up. That's about it.

The Storm is an outstanding weapon. It is my daily carry gun and my second favorite Beretta (right behind my Billennium! :D) The ergonomics are outstanding, the trigger pull is excellent and the rotary lock-up system definitely improves the recoil control and accuracy. With the interchangeable backstraps, you can customize the fit. The medium is fine for me and the small is perfect for my wife.

Beretta debuted the PX 4 Storm in .45 ACP at SHOT Show. It should be in stores around June or July. I plan on getting one to replace my carry gun and setting up the 9mm for my wife as her house gun.

The Cougar is a fine weapon (the new Stoegers are getting excellent reviews) but it's a cousin to the Storm - not a twin.

I bought a used 9mm PX4 and took it to the range w/o cleaning it as a test. The little bugger failed to fire, eject, and feed a few times. I have absolutely no idea how many rounds were put through it before I bought it.

I cleaned it before the next range trip and it's been fine since then. Only one or two feed issues that were most likely operator error.

Someone at the Beretta forum took their PX4 through 3000 rounds before cleaning it and didn't have any problems.

It's a well made gun for the price.
