I am looking at a Colt Python stainless steel 6" barrel with a manufacturing date of 1995. Asking price is $1000. I don't neeeeeed the gun but want it for the fun of shooting it and perhaps as an investment. Any input on whether this is too much for this model and if the investment idea is not realistic? Thanks

I think you should buy it and send it to me for inspection and break-in. I might be able to get it back to you in a couple of years.

Seriously, the price seems good and it's a GREAT gun.

Good price for a SS Python. Great investment. All Colt "I" frames are like a swiss watch. Treat it like a baby! You will definately get you money back. ;)

As long as it's in nice shape, it's a nice price.
Python prices have just been climbing since the announcement that Colt will no longer be making them.

Good luck.

Although this isn't in everyone else's best interest, but snag the Python. They're great investments! Not to mention the most beautiful revolver ever produced!

I was just on Gunbroker, Bidding on a Colt revolver, There's one as you stated (6" in S/S) still on auction, right now the bid is $1400.00 and still climbing. So, $1000.00 sounds really nice. If it's clean go for it, you won't be dissappointed.:D
