I was looking for .380 lead at the gun show this weekend so I could load some ammo for my daughter. I was frustrated that the normal lead purveyors had none, but finally found a box near the end of the day. I snatched them up. After I got them home I noticed they had no lube but they do have some sort of black coating.

Does anyone have any first hand info on Quality Bullets of Mariposa, CA? They are 95 grn. lead with the color noted above.

Thanks,

Chap

Lee Alox dries to a kind of light brown tint. There are some companies that swage lead bullets and coat them with a kind of bullet lube wax. They look almost black. I don't know if Quality Bullets made them. Speer and Hornady still do in some sizes.

Do they feel like they have some kind of coating on them?

Dean:

The do look and feel like they are coated. I had some Precision Bullets (I believe that is correct) a few years ago that were coated and these resemble those. I'll try o post a picture but it won't be till later in the week.
