The 2.0 compact I recently acquired is impressing me more and more as time goes on. I don't want to count unhatched chickens but I havent experienced any issues and don't expect to. (Except one light strike on first magazine with wolf ammo) Even after many thousands of rounds go by.
I understand this isn't revolutionary news here but after comparing the 2.0 to my glocks, the glocks almost feel like boxy toys.
Machining seems better in the SW, the frame is definitely more stable and solid, there is steel at stress points instead of polymer BUT enough polymer to save weight compared to a steel gun. Stippling is top notch. Sights work well and seem well thought out for what they are. Trigger is much better than most glocks and bore axis is low. Recoil spring rides in a metal rod rather than polymer.
The overall quality and feel is just....better. It surprises me how much this is growing on me as I am so used to glocks and I also didn't care much for the original MP.
I haven't shot a gen 5 glock yet but I understand glock made several changes while adding and changing several of the parts I would say both these pistols have started with a clean slate.
With that slate wiped clean I think SW has pulled ahead by a good margin.
I found mine for $420 shipped nib. The gen 5 was $550 plus I would need to change out those outdated and weak plastic sights.
It's nice to see an American company producing a great product. Good job S&W.
