I was cleaning a llama especial .22 and this tiny piece fell out onto the floor. I think it goes where the rough edges are above the slide groves on the rear. Anyone familiar with 1911's or this brand care to chime in and give your thoughts on this piece...is it vital?
I have not shot it after cleaning but just got done shooting it several times before the cleaning. Slide moves freely. The piece does not seem to hold a part in or on. It does not lock into any piece of the upper area of the slide. Seems the slide may have barely rubbed on it as it moved back. Does not appear to be a slide stop either for recoil.
Just thought I would ask before I go shooting it again. Thanks for the info.
