Question about a car gun

Kinda off topic but I left a NEF .22 sitting in a tool box in the (un heated) garage for 8 years I actually for got it was there so obviously no maintainence at all and it was fine. I would think leaving in a car shouldn't be much different.

I have kept a Star BM 9mm (cheap but reliable ... and I have 3 more with which I can practice) in my primary vehicle for several years. It resides in a silicone sock and I inspect it & wipe it down with the CLP rag before replacing it about once a year ... never any corrosion.
