Question about Kahr P9 - mark on frame

I just purchased a Kahr P9 a week ago. Serial # starts with YA. I fired over 300 rounds, including 100 rounds of my carry ammo, and it was 100 % reliable. My question is that on the left side of the frame, just below where the trigger , there is a fairly large blemish on the frame. It almost looks like something was melted on it. It's not notiable when you look at the gun from the side. The mark is on the underneath part of the frame. Is this where they put the new pin that holds the trigger pin in place? I know the earlier P9's had a problem with the trigger pin coming loose. Is it possible that this is what this mark is and they just did a sloppy job of putting it in? I can live with it because so far the gun has been absolutely reliable, I was just wondering for my piece of mind. Thanks for any info.....stay safe

Mercedes, How has your P9 been? Is it reliable? How many rounds did you put through it? I love my P9, I just want to make sure it is one of the newer models where they fixed the "bugs". I thought it would be one of the newer ones because I ordered it w/ night sights instead of taking one from the display. The blemish is on the left side of the frame below the trigger pin. On the underneath part of the trigger guard. It looks like there was a pin placed there that was then covered with a gooey plastic. I guess I shouldn't worry about it if the gun is reliable, it was just made me curious.

I can find no such blemish on my gun.

Ivan, my P9 (YC0***) has that also....looks like a cross pin going through the trigger pin, not sure how that works. Mine doesn't look as messy as yours sounds....doesn't look melted or glued over or anything like that.

If it's reliable, I'd ignore it.

Ivan, googling around with "Kahr P9 trigger pin" I found this:

Next came my P9 and after 350 rounds the trigger pin began to move out .060 or so, and the trigger would not always reset. This pistol was also returned to Kahr. The trigger bar was replaced and the trigger pin was reversed and pinned into place. I'm sure the trigger pin will not move again.

Thanks Uabfan, It looks like the gun was made, then they realized the trigger pin problem and then they fixed it. Yours was probably made right from the begining like that. But like you said, I'm gonna ignore it because its just cosmetic, you can't really see it and the gun works and shoots great.

Hey Guys,

There's a very similar post that I just responded to before seeing this post. Someone in that post has a PM9 with the same thing that you noted except his has a small burr in that area as well.

I had guessed that the burr was actually caused by the end of some type of securing pin for the trigger pin. This post seems to have confirmed it. Sounds like they may now need another securing pin to secure the securing pin that secures the trigger pin
