ive been looking for an SKS, and i walked into my local gun shop and they had 1 on hand, and it had the spike bayonet and it had a 20rd fixed mag with a star stamped on it.

they were asking $289 for it. i cant find any info on these, but since that is the going rate for a regular SKS i might buy it anyway (waiting on my tax return to hit my bank)

anyone have any info on these or if they are worth more? i google searched but couldnt find much.

I added the 20 round fixed mag to my Paratrooper (115 dollars NIB 22 years ago). I left it off for a long time because it jammed, but then thought about it, ground down the edge where the top half mates with the hinged bottom half. The rounds were hanging on that ridge. Now, it works, but the last round stovepipes up. I've bent and bent on the feed lips, but it still stovepipes the last round. It's okay, just a range toy I built cheap, don't actually USE it for anything and it feeds 100 percent until that last round. Just you might wanna get a 10 round mag to replace it if you can't get it to run, all I'm sayin'. That's a good price on an SKS in today's market.

The 20 round Star mag adds no value to the SKS,
it is a aftermarket item. If the rest of the gun has
matching numbers on the trigger group, bolt carrier,
bolt and receiver and is in very good overall condition
$289 is not a bad price. Offer them $250.

Tried finding & pricing a real Chinese 20-round SKS fixed mag lately?

Just the mag alone will set you back $60 - $80 bucks for a real Norinco one.
