Question for CZ owners.

I've just bought a couple of 452s, a Varmint for me and an American for my better half.

In the handbook it says that the solvent used to clean the bore should not be used to clean the action.

Now I'm confused. If they mean the dirty solvent from the bore should not be used on the action, I understand.

However, if they mean the average bore cleaner is no good for cleaning other parts, I don't understand what cleaner I'm supposed to use.

I use Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner on the bores of my 22lrs. I always understood that this was a general cleaner that could be used anywhere.

Of course I wouldn't use Butch's Bore Shine to wipe crud out of a gun's action, but then I wouldln't put it down a 22lr bore either.

Could somebody kindly explain what I'm supposed to use on the the action apart from a nylon bush?

I use Weapon Shield for everything. Hoppes #9 stands by for really dirty bores. None of my CZs have ever complained. Use your Hoppes, it will do a fine job, nothing to worry about.

I've used Hoppes #9 for 50 years and it has never caused any problem on any gun ever.

Hoppes is what I use on my CZ .17hmr.

Actually, I barely clean my 452 at all. After ever range session, I wipe clean the bolt and chamber, then the barrel gets 2 passes with an oiled bore snake with the brush removed. The bolt then gets oiled and replaced.

Once a year I break out the Hoppes and brushes, and thuroughly clean the rifle.

I've read that admonition with my CZ rifle also. Perhaps the bore cleaners like Shooters Choice or others have harsh chemicals which are not needed in the action, can slop down into magazine wells and such and attack wood or something?

Breakfree CLP on all the metal works goood for me. Hoppes Benchrest gets the copper out

I've used Hoppe's No 9 for over 60 years to clean all parts of the rifles. Don't leave it wet inside the arm, wipe dry and light oil, very light.

I've had no problems cleaning the action and bolt of my 452/3s with Hoppes 9.

I clean my cz 452 with hoppes evrytime after shooting it- bore, action, stock you name it. Rifle (or should i say laser ) works more than well.
