Question for M1 Carbine Handloaders/Shooters

Anybody using Coated cast bullets in their M1 Carbines? It seems that 115 grain cast and coated cast bullets are still available during this crisis, and I’ve been considering using some. Are there any issues with the gas port using either cast or coated cast bullets in an M1 carbine?​

A LOT of shooters have been using lead in them ever since they started coming back. You will see a few saying that lead will damage the gas system but I have never actually seen it happen to anyone I know or mine. You will of course want to make sure of course the mix used is hard enough for the speed you want to set.
